Swimming Through The Rain

I can’t believe how quickly the Surface Pattern Design e-course module 2 http://dowhatyouloveforlife.com/pattern. has gone, we’ve nearly come to the end of it.  Some tasks have been easier than others.  Getting the inspiration for designing swimsuits hasn’t been that easy with the dull weather here in Yorkshire for July!  However focusing further forward and thinking about the swimming and other sport that will be taking place here in England next week has added to my ideas.

Rustic Dawn

Designing stationary, seeing a torch and watching a football match all in one day is not easy.  Somehow I’ve managed it, now it’s down to penalties.  I enjoyed designing the stationary; it was a brief from the e-course module 2 http://dowhatyouloveforlife.com/pattern.  Not easy naming it though, what do you think?

Colour exercises

Experimenting with the colours on designs can make a big difference.  I think it can totally change the meaning with the design.  I was designing a scarf focusing on the theme of celebrating.  I think the colours work well but the different combinations give alterative impressions, I can’t decide which works best.

Designing from special events

There are many more designs and skills I have achieved from this Surface Pattern Design Course http://dowhatyouloveforlife.com/pattern/.  It really has been amazing, I've gained a lot from the lessons but I have also gained a lot more ideas and inspiration from communicating with class mates  sharing designs, helping each other with comments, advise and suggestions.  I would recommend it to anyone looking into Pattern Designing.  I plan to add more of my designs from the course to this Blog eventually, but for now I thought it appropriate to include a pattern I designed this weekend.  The inspiration for this design has come from trip to Wembley Stadium yesterday supporting Huddersfield Town FC!

Inspiration from Surface Pattern Design class

I can't believe I am coming towards the end of The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design Course http://dowhatyouloveforlife.com/pattern/.  There are so many designs around us that I had'nt seen.  The number of circles I have spotted.  Taking photos of every circle I see must look a bit suspicious!
